There's a strange pause just before a new PoE1 league opens. Everyone is sorting stash tabs, guessing which bases will matter, and wondering whether that early rare is worth a few chaos or something far better. That's where POE currency and a sensible price-check routine start to matter. Awakened PoE Trade is useful because it cuts out the tedious part: copying an item, opening the market, and finding similar listings. Still, it isn't a crystal ball. It shows what people are asking, not what buyers will definitely pay.
Why 3.29 Needs a Bit More PatiencePoE1 3.29 is due to open on July 25, 2026, while the latest packaged Awakened PoE Trade release is still 3.28.103 from March 16. That sounds worrying, but ordinary searches may work just fine. The tool reads copied item text and looks at live trade listings, so it doesn't rely on a fixed price sheet. New modifiers, unfamiliar item formats, and fresh league content are the bits worth watching. If a new item returns odd matches, don't force a price from two random listings. Search the base, trim the filters, and see what the market is actually doing.
Rare Items Are About Jobs, Not Pretty LinesI've seen plenty of players select every modifier on a rare, get one result, then treat that number as gospel. It rarely ends well. Start with what the item does for a character. A ring with life, resistance, and a needed attribute may move quickly in the first days because it fixes a real gearing problem. A ring with six respectable lines can sit untouched if those lines don't serve the same build. Pick the two or three stats that create demand, then add another only if the search is too wide. Open prefixes and suffixes matter too, though not on every item. They're valuable when they leave room for a useful craft, not merely because an empty slot exists.
Unique items need the same restraint. Search the item first, look at the broad spread, then focus on the roll that changes how it performs. Links, sockets, corruptions, implicits, and special variants can all shift the price, but only if players care about them. Also watch the shape of the listings. One cheap offer from someone who hasn't logged in for hours isn't a proper market floor. A tight cluster from active sellers tells you much more. Linux users should test copied item reading before launch as well; recent reports showed that the overlay could appear even when the item shortcut failed on some newer runtime setups.
The best habit for 3.29 is simple: treat every result as a starting point, then decide how fast you want the item gone. Price near active listings when you want a quick response, or leave room for a higher ask when the base and rolls are genuinely hard to replace. If you're comparing crafting opportunities or looking for POE currency for sale to support early upgrades, keep an eye on supply as much as price. A good trade tool saves time, but your own read on demand is what keeps those trades moving.
